BD Diesel's Torq/UnLoc keeps the torque converter's lock-up clutch engaged when the BD Exhaust Brake is active, allowing up to 100% retarding force transfer in 3rd and 4th gear. This reduces transmission oil temperature by minimizing slippage. Additionally, BD Diesel's Torq/UnLoc prevents the ECM from engaging the lock-up clutch in situations that would pull the engine RPM out of the optimal torque range or cause unnecessary clutch cycling at certain speeds.
