The 2015+ WRX and STI (VA Chassis) are sharp-looking cars, but they suffer from the same old Subaru problem: the Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC). Sitting right on top of a hot engine, the TMIC acts like a heat sponge in traffic. Once the intake temps rise, the ECU pulls timing, and the car feels sluggish. The COBB Tuning Front Mount Intercooler moves the cooling duties to the front bumper, hitting the reset button on your intake temps.
Most front mount kits require you to hack up the bumper cover or lose your crash beam. COBB engineers took a different approach. They designed a system that clears the factory crash supports and requires zero cutting of the painted bumper cover. Even better, it preserves the factory tow hook location. Whether you need to be towed out of a gravel trap or just want to run a license plate relocation kit, this FMIC lets you do it.

WRX (2015-2021): The FA20 engine comes with a plastic bypass valve that leaks boost. COBB solves this by including the premium COBB LF Bypass Valve right in the box. Note: Minor trimming of the plastic undertray is required for the piping path.

WRX STI (2015-2021): The EJ25 kit focuses on tunability. The cold-side piping features a welded bung for an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, making the conversion to Speed Density tuning a breeze. It also includes a BPV adapter, allowing you to reuse the stock valve or bolt on a COBB XLE BPV.
